SCO Files

SCO lost their court case claiming ownership of UNIX. While waiting for the judge to pick a damage amount, SCO filed for bankruptcy today. The bankruptcy may muddle the ongoing SCO/IBM case but the bottom line is that SCO has lost and lost big. Huge.

I'm not a giant Linux fan but this has been a stupid lawsuit from the beginning. Then there's the "income by lawsuit" business strategy that they've pursued. When the CEO declares that the new business model is to sue people, get out. Run. Short the stock. Especially when the business models is to sue everyone larger than you, with more money, lawyers and time than you. Ouch!

The penguin is flying high tonight.
